AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Kissimmee families should be able to live in the city they help build.
Housing costs are placing too much pressure on working families, seniors, and young adults. Some residents are one unexpected bill away from losing their homes. Others cannot find a realistic path to homeownership.
As your commissioner, I will vote on land use, development agreements, city-owned property, housing funds, and programs that help residents remain safely housed.
WHAT WE CAN BUILD TOGETHER
GROWTH THAT SUPPORTS CURRENT RESIDENTS
New development should come with a clear plan for the services and infrastructure it will require.
When major developments come before the commission, I will ask how they affect housing costs, traffic, drainage, public safety, parks, schools, utilities, and nearby neighborhoods.
I will push for development agreements to clearly state what the developer will provide, what the city will fund, and what the public will receive.
I will advocate for responsible use of impact and mobility fees to support eligible infrastructure needs created by growth.
I will also push for early neighborhood input and public updates so residents can understand major proposals before the final vote.
CITY LAND USED FOR COMMUNITY NEEDS
City-owned land can be part of the housing solution.
I will advocate for a public inventory of city property that could support housing. When land is appropriate for development, I will push for a fair process that gives priority to proposals with clear and lasting affordability requirements.
DEVELOPMENT THAT INCLUDES AFFORDABLE OPTIONS
New housing should meet the needs of the people who already live and work here.
I will push for affordable and workforce housing to be considered in development agreements and incentive discussions when legally allowed. I will advocate for clear information about how many affordable homes are proposed, who can qualify, and how long the homes will remain affordable.
HELP FOR RESIDENTS AT RISK OF LOSING THEIR HOMES
Preventing displacement can cost less than helping a family recover after losing housing.
I will advocate for city-controlled housing funds to support eligible eviction prevention, rental and utility deposits, home repairs, foreclosure prevention, and housing counseling. I will also push for stronger outreach so residents know when assistance is available.
MORE PATHWAYS TO HOMEOWNERSHIP
Buying a home should not feel impossible for working families.
I will advocate for partnerships that expand down-payment assistance, financial education, affordable home construction, and rehabilitation of existing homes. I will support working with nonprofit housing organizations and responsible developers to explore additional ownership options.

A commissioner can help decide how housing funds are used, how city property is handled, and what the city asks from developers.
I will push for a published housing pipeline so residents can see what is planned, what has been approved, and what is taking too long.
Because if Kissimmee is going to keep growing, it must grow in a way that includes all of us.
