Too many residents leave Kissimmee every day to find work that pays the bills. At the same time, local business owners often face complicated processes and struggle to find the support they need.
As your commissioner I will help set economic priorities, vote on incentives and development agreements, review the city budget, and push for stronger partnerships.

INCENTIVES TIED TO BETTER JOBS
When a business asks the city for financial incentives, residents should know what Kissimmee will receive in return.
I will push for incentive agreements with clear goals for wages, job creation, training, and local recruitment. I will advocate for public reporting so residents can see whether those goals are being met.
PUBLIC FUNDING WITH PUBLIC RESULTS
When the city provides a grant, incentive, property, or other public benefit, residents should know what Kissimmee receives in return.
I will push for clear agreements that explain the public investment, expected jobs, wages, project timeline, community benefits, and reporting requirements.
I will advocate for regular public updates showing whether businesses and developers receiving city support are meeting the terms of their agreements.
If goals are missed, I will ask what protections are available to the city and what action can legally be taken.
CLEARER SUPPORT FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES
Small businesses should be able to understand city permitting, grants, incentives, and contracting opportunities.
I will advocate for clearer permitting timelines, multilingual business information, and regular opportunities for local business owners to meet with city staff. I will also push for public reports on permitting times and unresolved delays.
TRAINING CONNECTED TO REAL JOBS
Workforce programs should prepare residents for jobs that are available in our region.
I will advocate for partnerships with Valencia College, CareerSource Central Florida, Osceola County schools, trade organizations, unions, employers, and nonprofits. These partnerships could expand access to certifications, apprenticeships, internships, and paid youth opportunities.
MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO DO BUSINESS WITH THE CITY
Local businesses should know how to compete for city contracts.
I will push for stronger vendor outreach, workshops on the bidding process, and public reporting on city contracts. I will also support breaking large contracts into smaller opportunities when it is legal, practical, and in the city’s best interest.
