Every resident deserves dignity.

Homelessness does not look the same for everyone. Some families live in motels. Some people sleep in cars, stay with friends, or live outside. Many are dealing with job loss, rising housing costs, illness, disability, domestic violence, or another crisis.

The city cannot solve homelessness alone. As your commissioner I will advocate for how city housing funds are used, support responsible housing projects, vote on partnerships, and bring local agencies together around clear goals.

WHAT WE CAN FIGHT FOR TOGETHER

HELP BEFORE A FAMILY LOSES HOUSING

The strongest response begins before someone is forced onto the street.

I will advocate for eligible city housing funds to support eviction prevention, rental and utility deposits, foreclosure prevention, housing counseling, and emergency assistance. I will push for clearer outreach so residents know where to seek help before a crisis becomes homelessness.

EMERGENCY AND BRIDGE HOUSING WITH A PATH FORWARD

Temporary housing should connect people to the next step.

I will support city-funded housing efforts, including Haven on Vine. I will advocate for partnerships that connect emergency and bridge housing with case management, employment support, healthcare, benefits, and permanent housing options.

COORDINATED STREET OUTREACH

People should not have to contact several agencies before finding the right help.

I will push for stronger coordination among the city, Osceola County, regional homelessness organizations, law enforcement, healthcare providers, housing agencies, and nonprofits. The goal should be a clearer path from street outreach to identification, services, temporary housing, and long-term stability.

HOUSING AND RESULTS WE CAN TRACK

Public funding should come with public accountability.

I will advocate for more supportive and deeply affordable housing through city funding, land-use decisions, responsible use of city property, and partnerships. I will also push for regular public reports showing how funding is used and whether people are reaching stable housing.

THIS IS HOW WE MOVE PEOPLE FROM CRISIS TO STABILITY

Homelessness affects housing, health, public safety, businesses, and neighborhoods. It requires cooperation across more than one agency.

I will advocate for a response built on dignity, clear expectations, measurable results, and responsible use of public money. Compassion and accountability can live together.
