My Reflection from the Alianza Candidate Forum

On August 10, I had the honor of participating in the Alianza for Progress Candidate Forum.

I am grateful to Alianza for creating a welcoming space where residents could hear directly from the candidates seeking to represent them. Alianza’s commitment to civic engagement helps Puerto Rican and Latino voices shape the decisions affecting our community. That work strengthens all of Kissimmee.

Candidate forums give voters the chance to look beyond signs, slogans, and social media. Residents deserve to hear what each candidate believes, what they plan to do, and how they will measure progress.

Every question deserves a clear answer. Every answer deserves a path to action.

I came prepared to speak from my heart, share my record, and explain the plan I will bring to City Hall.

Helping Families Stay in Kissimmee

Affordable housing remains one of the greatest challenges facing our city.

Families who work in Kissimmee should be able to afford to live here. Seniors should be able to age with dignity. Young adults should have a path toward renting or owning their first home.

At the forum, I shared several actions the city can take:

• Review city-owned land for affordable housing opportunities

• Build stronger partnerships with the county, nonprofit organizations, and responsible developers

• Protect long-term affordability when public resources are involved

• Expand pathways toward homeownership

• Track housing commitments and report progress to the public

Public dollars require public value. When the city supports a development, residents should receive clear and measurable benefits.

Connecting Residents to Better Jobs

Workforce development must lead to real jobs with better wages.

Training programs should connect directly to local employers. Development agreements should create opportunities for Kissimmee residents. Our city can work with Valencia College, local schools, businesses, chambers, and workforce organizations to build stronger career pathways.

As commissioner, I will push for partnerships that connect residents to:

• Career training

• Apprenticeships

• Internships

• Local hiring opportunities

• Small-business development

• Growing industries across Central Florida

Our residents should be able to stay, work, grow, and belong in Kissimmee.

Supporting Local Businesses

Small businesses create jobs, strengthen neighborhoods, and keep money moving through our local economy.

City Hall should provide a clear path through permitting, licensing, and development processes. Business owners should know what is required, how long each step should take, and who can help when problems arise.

I support faster and more accountable permitting, clear public timelines, and stronger connections between entrepreneurs and available resources.

Through my work as a nonprofit CEO and chamber leader, I have spent years building partnerships and connecting people to opportunities. I understand the challenges business owners face because I work with them directly.

I am ready to bring that experience to the City Commission.

Planning for Responsible Growth

Kissimmee continues to grow, and our infrastructure must keep pace.

Responsible growth means looking at traffic, drainage, roads, transit, public safety, housing, and neighborhood impact before decisions are made.

I will push for:

• Better coordination between development and infrastructure planning

• Clear traffic-impact information

• Improvements to dangerous intersections

• Stronger regional transportation partnerships

• Public updates on major infrastructure projects

• Growth that produces real benefits for current residents

New development should strengthen the community already here.

Investing in Young People and Neighborhoods

Every Kissimmee neighborhood deserves investment.

Young people need safe places, mentorship, civic opportunities, job training, and adults who believe in their future. Seniors need safe housing, accessible services, transportation, and opportunities to remain connected.

I have already helped build programs serving children, families, seniors, and entrepreneurs. My organization helped create a $125,000 Early Learning Hub. We developed technology programs, senior initiatives, learning opportunities, and community partnerships.

These are the receipts I will bring to City Hall.

Leadership With Accountability

Residents deserve to know what their city leaders are doing after the election ends.

I support public progress updates that allow the community to track promises, projects, spending, and results. I will remain accessible, hold regular community conversations, and bring resident concerns directly into City Hall.

Accountability builds trust. Clear communication protects that trust.

Moving Kissimmee Forward Together

The Alianza forum gave me another opportunity to explain why I am running.

I am running to help families stay in Kissimmee. I am running to connect residents to better jobs. I am running to support local businesses, invest in our youth, strengthen our neighborhoods, and restore public trust.

I have been doing this work for years. I am ready to do it with the full tools and responsibility of the office.
