Growing, Learning, and Building for Kissimmee

My husband and I had the privilege of attending the Florida League of Cities Annual Reception celebrating their partnership with the Democratic Municipal Officials (DMO).
Walking into a room full of leaders who serve their communities with heart was such an encouragement to me. Every conversation reminded me that leadership starts with listening and learning. As I step into local politics, I don’t walk this journey alone, I walk with a full team of supporters!
At the reception I had the opportunity to connect with Mayor Bryan Kennedy, Board President of DMO and Mayor of Glendale, Wisconsin. Hearing about the work he’s doing in his city inspired me to keep pressing forward. I also enjoyed meeting Orlando City Commission candidate Tom Keen. It was powerful to hear his heart for his community and to see another leader running with vision and purpose.
What I took away from the evening was simple: growth happens when we stay open to learning and connected to others who share a heart for service. I left feeling energized, affirmed, and more committed than ever to serve Kissimmee with excellence, integrity, and compassion.
This campaign is about bringing people together, building stronger communities, and ensuring that Kissimmee has leadership rooted in service, accountability, and hope for the future. Nights like these remind me that we’re on the right path.
